(3 customer reviews)

Inspired by the zenith of the Song Dynasty, this authentic Ru Kiln tea set captures the legendary “sky blue after rain” aesthetic. Fired at 1300°C, its signature crackle glaze is designed to absorb the essence of your tea, creating a deepening, golden patina over time. Housed in a premium travel case, it brings imperial tranquility to your daily brew.

Description

The Art of the Crackle

Ru Kiln ceramics are not merely made; they are grown. The delicate micro-fissures in the glaze—known as “ice crackles”—are left unsealed intentionally. As you brew your favorite oolong or pu’er, the tea gracefully settles into these lines, mapping a beautiful, golden web of your tea journeys over the years. No two sets will ever age the same way.

Imperial Elegance, Anywhere

Complete with a 180ml teapot and two tasting cups nested in a tailored leather travel case. Whether you are hosting a quiet moment in your study or enjoying a sunset brew on a coastal getaway, this set turns the simple act of pouring water into a moving meditation.

Brewing Note: Designed for traditional Gongfu tea rituals, the handle-less cups are meant to be held by the rim. We recommend brewing with water slightly off the boil (around 185°F – 200°F) for optimal flavor and comfortable handling.

Care: Hand-rinse with hot water only. Never use soap or dishwashers, as the crackle glaze will absorb the detergent.

Eliot’s Note: I’ve seen countless ‘vintage’ tea sets, but when I found the artisans behind this Ru Kiln glaze, I knew it was different. They still insist on the grueling 1300°C firing process from the Song Dynasty. Watch how the crackle glaze catches the golden hue of your tea over time—it’s pure magic.

The Ru kiln crackle glaze is absolutely stunning. Just a heads up, 180ml is a traditional gongfu size so the teapot is quite small, but it’s exactly what I needed for proper tea tasting. Excellent quality.
